Organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs - Yarmouk President sponsors university celebrations for the 60th anniversary of his Majesty's birth and the 54th anniversary of the Battle of Eternal Dignity

The President of Yarmouk University, Dr. Islam Masad, sponsored the ceremony organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the birth of His Majesty King Abdullah II, son of Hussein, and the 54th anniversary of the Battle of Eternal Dignity, in the presence of The Governor of Irbid Radwan al-Atum.

In his speech during the ceremony, Masad said that it is fortunate and with all the joy and pleasure that the Yarmouk University family celebrates a number of happy national events, the most recent of which is the birthday of His Majesty the Hashemite King Abdullah II, son of Hussein, the memory of the battle of eternal dignity, and the anniversary of the Arabization of the Jordanian army leadership.

He pointed out that when we celebrate the birth of the leader, we celebrate a national occasion that is closest to the hearts of Jordanians, because it represents a pause of pride and pride for Malik Hashemi who was able to reach the hearts and conscience of millions of his people, pointing out that this national occasion has become rooted and remaining in the Jordanian conscience and conscience, to confirm year after year that the steps of construction and development continue under the leader and adorn the march of the most precious nation.

Masad added that in celebration of the anniversary of the battle of eternal dignity, we recall a track record of the heroic men of the Arab Army who, with their thick blood, wrote a timeless epic and engraved in the days book tales of heroism, martyrdom and altruism, as well as the commander of the battle, His Majesty the late Hussein bin Talal, may God bless him, and the efforts of our armed forces, which were inspired by eternal exultation, and recorded the first historic victory over the Israeli army in the history of the Arab-Israeli wars.

"We are also celebrating the anniversary of the Arabization of the army leadership, which is the source of our pride and pride in this army, which is unique to other Arab armies by carrying the name of the "Arab Army", and therefore its first reason is that it is the army of the Great Arab Revolution, its first nucleus, the military that is in all Arab territories with honor and duty, in defending justice and enshrining peace and the values of security and truth.

For his part, The Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Tayabat said in his speech that this is a day of the homeland on an occasion close to the conscience of the sons and daughters of the homeland, Sheba and Shabana, men and women, where the good gathering of the Yarmouk family gathers to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the birth of the patron of the march and hadi rode our Majesty King Abdullah II son of Hussein.

Dhiabat said that with the hum and determination of the young leader who protected his father's reign and preserved his will, the achievements and reforms that were in various areas of political, economic and social life were generalized within a comprehensive vision that His Majesty the King wanted to be a milestone not only at the level of Jordan but also at the level of the countries of the region, until we saw how the Jordanian experience became the focus of attention around us.

He stressed that here at Yarmouk University and under the guidance of the university administration we are working hard to meet his Majesty's visions and enforce them in reality through the good care of our student children and inform them of the history of Jordan, and how this country was able to rise and continue the journey of building it despite the challenges that he was able to face in various fields.

The ceremony included a march of belonging and loyalty to the public security music troupe, a poetry poor delivered by student Linda Al-Khatib, an artistic poor for the Yarmouk University choir and folklore, and another for the artist Rami Al-Khalid, while the ceremony was taken over by the poet Hussein Al Turk from the local community.

The ceremony was attended by vice-chancellors Dr. Muwaffaq al-Amoush, Dr. Riad Al-Momani, a number of deans of colleges, a number of guests from various military institutions and the city, a number of faculty members and university officials, and a crowd of students.

Yarmouk offers loans and assistance worth 155,000 dinars to 725 students

Yarmouk University President Dr. Islam Masad said that the university's humanitarian role is a major part of the university's work, and that the university will not hesitate to provide all possible assistance and help its students who face difficult material conditions that prevent them from continuing their studies easily and easily, by giving them the loans and material assistance they deserve.

During his social chairmanship of the student fund committees and the university's voluntary fund, he stressed the importance of continuing the work and development of these funds, reflecting positively on the increase in the number of students benefiting from their services in each semester, in light of the increasing number of university students and the increase in the number of students applying for loans and grants through them.

Dr. Mohammed Khalaf Dhiabat, dean of student affairs at the university, said the two committees have made great efforts to grant loans and scholarships to eligible students, and have been keen to translate the humanitarian and community role of the university by providing a large number of university loans exceptionally for this semester due to the high number of students who applied for loans and grants provided by the university.

During the meeting, the Student Fund Committee decided to grant the 672 students who applied for loans from the Student Fund and applied to them on the conditions for granting these loans, which amounted to a loan equivalent to the tuition hours fees he recorded for the second semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, provided that the loan amounted to no more than 9 credit hours of study, and the amount of loans provided was 677'142 dinars.

The Voluntary Fund Management Committee also decided to grant the 53 students who applied for financial assistance and applied to the conditions equal to the tuition fees he recorded for the second semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, provided that the amount of assistance did not exceed the fees of (9) credit hours of study, and the amount of assistance amounted to 12,960 dinars.

It is worth mentioning that the President of the University is the chair of both the student fund management committees and the donations fund, and the committees include the Dean of Student Affairs, the Director of the Department of Admissions and Registration, the Director of the Department of Student Services in the Deanship of Student Affairs, and the Committee of the Fund of Donations includes the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, while the Student Fund Committee also includes Dr. Saif Nasser Athamna of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

At the beginning of the meeting, Kafafi reviewed the programs and majors that Yarmouk offers, pointing out that they welcome all forms of cooperation with international universities, which serve the educational process, and provide students and academic staff with opportunities to visit Krimenchuk National University and expand their cultural and academic knowledge.

Kafafi added that Yarmouk is ready to cooperate with the Ukrainian University in areas of common interest, noting to the possibility of receiving Krimenchuk's students who wish to learn Arabic at the languages center through the program of Arabic language for Speakers of other languages.

For his part, Zagirnyak praised the outstanding academic level of YU and expressed the aspirations of Krimenchuk to strengthen cooperation with YU through students and staff exchange programs and to conduct academic research in areas of common interest.

Deanship of Student Affairs organizes the "Fives football" championship for university colleges

The five-year football championship for university colleges, organized by the Sports Activity Department of the Deanship of Student Affairs, will be held on March 13th with the participation of the university's college teams and will last four days.

Dr. Mohammed Khalaf Dhiabat, Dean of Student Affairs at the University, said that the organization of the deanship for this tournament comes in line with the return of extracurricular student activities and events at the university and in accordance with the current defense orders, and in order to activate the students' communication with the deanship and involve them in targeted extracurricular activities, where this tournament enjoys a wide demand from university students, whether through participation as players or attendees.

He explained that students wishing to participate in the tournament can review the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at each college to register their names before the tournament begins.

Dhiabat pointed out that the deanship and in preparation for the start of the tournament and in the presence of the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Hassan Al Wadis, Assistant Dean Dr. Rami Malkawi, assistant deans of colleges for student affairs, representatives of the deanship of student affairs and university students conducted the draw and determine the schedule of the championship matches, as well as the deanship developed technical instructions for the championship, which stipulated that the student wishing to participate in the tournament must be registered at the university for the current academic year 2021/2022, the second semester and holds the university card or student proof paper, in addition to adding He must receive two doses of co-ordnate vaccine with proof of this and other instructions governing the course of matches during the one-time knockout tournament.

Yarmouk and civil defense west of Irbid celebrate World Civil Defense Day 2022

As a representative of the President of Yarmouk University, Dr. Islam Masad, Assistant President Dr. Ziad Zureikat sponsored the celebration of The World Civil Defense Day 2022, organized by the Directorate of Civil Defense west of Irbid in cooperation with Yarmouk University, in the presence of the Director of Civil Defense west of Irbid Lt. Col. Shadi Al-Helou, in front of the Deanship of Student Affairs building, which came this year entitled "Civil Protection and management of displaced populations in times of natural disasters and crises".

In his opening remarks, Zarekat said that the allocation of a global day of civil defence is an appreciation by the humanitarian community of the nature of the humanitarian tasks and duties of civil defence and city protection agencies around the world, all of which aim to protect lives and property and to safeguard gains and achievements from various kinds of risks.

He added that it is a matter of loyalty and appreciation to a constellation of jordanian civil defence salaries, that we all stand in tribute and appreciation for what they offer day and night that does not dissuade them from providing duty free summer, winter cold or walking in the open, they are present in the midst of dangers and to redress thoughts.

Zarekat referred to this year's slogan launched by the International Organization for Civil Protection (Civil Protection and Management of Displaced Populations in Times of Disaster and Crisis) as an embodiment of the importance of dealing directly and immediately with displaced populations resulting from disasters, which requires the concerted efforts of medical and health agencies and ambulance and rescue services to deal with injuries of all kinds by providing effective ambulance services in order to reduce human losses as much as possible, especially as disasters and crises of all kinds have become a serious challenge for communities.  Governments, a threat to lives, property, national achievements and the national economy.

The tasks and duties of the civil defence and civil protection agencies were an urgent national requirement that could in no way be dispensed with or underestimated, as civil protection had become a professional professional practice that took on important dimensions that affected and affected all activities in the various vital areas of modern societies, whose safety and achievements paid most of their attention and care.

For his part, Helou appreciated the constant and continuous cooperation between the Directorate of Civil Defense west of Irbid and Yarmouk University, as a living witness to the partnership between our various national institutions, and in order to achieve and meet common interests, praising the role of Yarmouk University in the development of public safety services, pointing out that the interest in the development of these services is one of the advancement of institutions and states.

He referred to the efforts made by the Directorate of Public Security, represented by the Directorate General of Civil Defence, during the Corona pandemic, which was responsible, the first line of defence, the relief of citizens and the conduct of their lives, especially during the days of the total and partial embargo, in cooperation with various state agencies.

Al-Helou stressed that the organization of this celebration on the campus of Yarmouk University, comes to introduce the role of civil defense and the services it provides, which is not known to anyone, through the humanitarian services provided by this national body in the provision of services and high readiness in accordance with the highest international standards, which came as a result of the concerted efforts of decades of development and modernization of this device.

Attendees attended the three-day mini-exhibition, which will last for three days, and included civil defence mechanisms and equipment, training awareness lectures, distribution of various leaflets and pastries, with the aim of highlighting the role of the Directorate of Civil Defense in maintaining the safety of citizens and their property, public safety issues and training in civil defence work to preserve the safety of citizens and their property.

YU president sponsored the opening of the 5th International Conference:  "Tourism and Peace: Way of Life", which was organized by the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management.

Researchers from Spain, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Algeria, Palestine, France, Oman, United Kingdom, and Jordan participated in the conference that lasted for three days.

In his speech, president Kafafi stated that the fifth Conference was given the title "Tourism and Peace: Way of life"   because tourism means peace, respect and mutual understanding. He added that Jordan has a legacy of ancient civilizations that go back to thousands of years such as those of Ammon, Moab, Greeks, Romans, Nabataeans, Muslim Arabs, and Ottomans, adding that Ain Ghazal statues, the Mesha Stele, Petra, Jerash, Jadara among others stand as evidence of the sequence of those civilizations.

Kafafi pointed that the Faculty of Tourism in Yarmouk is one of the largest in Jordan, and is heading towards internationalization especially after the Bachelor program of Tourism Management was accredited by the World Tourism Organization TEDQUAL. He then thanked the faculty administration, teaching staff and students for their efforts to maintain the outstanding reputation of YU locally and internationally.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Shunnaq, the faculty dean, also pointed that the title of the conference was based on the fact that Jordan, which is in the midst of internal conflicts and wars, enjoys peace and security. He added that participants included researchers from various countries, official ministries in Jordan such as the Ministry of Tourism and monuments, Jordan tourism board, Irbid and Jerash cities, and representatives of the local community.

Al-Shunnaq added that organizing this conference came to confirm the relationship between tourism and peace, for tourism promotes peace and acceptance of the other, and peace encourages the flow of tourists to tourist destinations.

In her speech on behalf of participants, Dr. Maria José of Spain noted that Jordan is a well-known international tourist destination. She praised YU efforts in heritage and tourism research and thanked the organizing committee for this unique academic experience that serves as a good opportunity to exchange ideas, and build new projects that serve tourism.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Isa Qomoh, vice president, Dr. Anis Khasawneh, vice president, Dr. Fawwaz Al-Abed Al- Haq, director of Irbid tourism directorate, Ms. Mashael Khasawneh, Jerash mayor, Dr. Ali Qoqaza, several deans and faculty members and students.
